Protection Program
Claim Deadlines
How long you have to act
The short version
Every step in the protection program has a clock. These are the default windows; category rules can change them, and we will always show the exact deadline on your order.
Default windows
- Payment: due immediately when you accept an offer
- Seller handling: by the ship-by date shown on the accepted offer
- Tracking upload: within the required period after shipment
- Buyer inspection: 48 hours after confirmed delivery for a standard item
- High-value or complex items: up to 72 hours where category rules justify it
- Local pickup: inspect before confirming, then a limited window for latent covered issues
- Return shipment: within the period stated on the return authorization
- Appeal: within the appeal period shown on the decision
Extensions
We may extend a deadline for documented emergencies, carrier problems, inaccessible deliveries, or other reasonable circumstances. Ask before the deadline passes wherever you can.
Delayed shipments
If a seller cannot ship by the agreed date, they must report the delay here. We notify the buyer with a revised date where one is available, and the buyer can accept the delay or cancel where cancellation is required. If the buyer cancels or the seller cannot fulfill, we issue the required refund and the order keeps a record of both the original and revised commitments.
This page is a plain-language summary. The complete published Protection Program terms control, and nothing here is insurance, legal, or tax advice.
