Common questions

How buying, selling, payments and disputes work on . If your question isn't here, the Protection Program pages cover the full terms.

What is a wanted listing?

A wanted listing is a public post describing an item you want to buy, the condition you'll accept and the budget you have. Sellers who own that item send you offers with photos, condition notes and a price, so you compare real items instead of hunting through classifieds.

Does it cost anything to post a wanted listing?

No. Posting what you're looking for is free, and you're never obligated to accept an offer. Fees only apply when an order is completed.

How do payments work?

Payment happens on Seekventory, never by cash app, wire or bank transfer between strangers. The seller's proceeds are held until you've received the item and your inspection window has passed, so a seller can't take the money and disappear.

What is the inspection window?

After delivery you get time to check the item against what was described — 48 hours on a standard order and 72 hours on high-value orders. If it isn't as described, report it inside that window and the seller's payout is frozen while the case is reviewed.

What counts as 'not as described'?

A different model or reference, undisclosed damage, missing parts that were promised, a counterfeit item, or an empty or substituted package. Normal wear that was disclosed in the offer does not count.

How do returns work?

Each offer states its return policy, and the seller sets it. On top of that, the Protection Program covers items that arrive not as described regardless of the seller's stated policy. Return shipping responsibility depends on the reason for the return.

What happens if the buyer and seller disagree?

Either side can open a case with evidence: photos, packaging shots, tracking records and the original offer text. Clear cases are settled automatically against the program rules; the rest go to a staff reviewer. Both sides can appeal once within seven days with new evidence.

When does a seller get paid?

Proceeds are released after the inspection window closes with no case opened. New sellers may have a portion held as a reserve for a period, which is shown up front during seller setup.

Are high-value items authenticated?

Orders above the high-value threshold go through an added authentication and inspection step before payout, and require signature on delivery.

Is the Protection Program insurance?

No. It is contractual marketplace protection provided by Seekventory under the program terms. It is not an insurance policy and does not make Seekventory an insurer.

Why can't I take the deal off-platform?

Messages that push payment or contact outside the site get flagged. Once money moves off Seekventory there is no payment hold, no inspection window and no case process — that's exactly how most marketplace scams work.

Can I sell without a wanted listing?

Sellers respond to wanted listings rather than posting inventory. Browse the open requests, find items you own, and send an offer with honest condition notes and clear photos.
