Why We Built Seekventory: Buying Should Start With What You Want

September 1, 2026 · 4 min read

Every marketplace works the same way: sellers list what they have, and buyers scroll until something is close enough. If you want a specific watch reference, a sneaker in your exact size and colorway, or a camera body with the right shutter count, you set alerts on five sites and wait — or settle.

The idea: reverse the listing

Seekventory starts from the buyer's side. You post a wanted listing: the item, the condition you'll accept, your budget, and reference photos of exactly what you're looking for. Sellers who actually have it make you an offer with photos of their specific item, their price, and their shipping terms. You compare real offers instead of chasing listings.

Protection had to come first

A marketplace where strangers trade high-value items only works if both sides are protected. So before any listings, we built the Seekventory Protection Program: buyers pay into a payment hold before sellers ship, sellers ship against confirmed funds, and disputes are settled against the recorded terms of the offer — photos, condition, tracking, and deadlines.

  • Buyers: pay through the platform, inspect on delivery windows, open a case with evidence if something is wrong.
  • Sellers: ship only after payment is secured, get a visible quote breakdown, and have payouts held on a stated schedule — not indefinitely.
  • Both: one appeal per side, with new evidence, and a full audit trail on every decision.

Where we're starting

We're launching focused on watches and sneakers — two categories where fakes, misrepresented condition, and payment scams are the norm on general marketplaces, and where a wanted-post model fits how collectors actually hunt. Post what you're hunting, or browse open wanted listings if you have something to sell.
